About Noah
Noah Fischer (he/him) completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at TRU and was a SWAT leader for the Wellness Centre. He has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, specializing in supporting 2SLGBTQPIA+ individuals. He began his professional journey as a Learning Strategist at TRU's School of Nursing in 2022, where he orchestrated peer mentorship programming.
Noah is a RuPaul's Drag Race fanatic, enjoys spending time with my friends and family, and is always searching for his new favourite coffee pit stop. Please get in touch with Noah if you want to connect, collaborate and create opportunities to engage on campus and in the community.
Meet the Work Study students
Jenna Marshall (she/her)
Jenna, a final-year Bachelor of Business Administration student majoring in marketing, has gained valuable experience through four co-op work terms in her time at TRU. Outside of her studies, she enjoys running, travelling, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.
Working alongside the GSD office for the first time, Jenna is eager to expand her skills and learn about new topics, build meaningful connections, and contribute creatively by developing content that highlights events, workshops, and educational initiatives in the department. She wants to help voice to students that everyone at TRU is welcome, accepted, and that we are here for you. Her goal is to create content that is fun, educational, and inclusive.
Chantelle Van Eecke (they/them)
As a current psychology student at TRU, Chantelle is thrilled to join the Gender and Sexual Diversity team as a WorkStudy student! Their academic journey is driven by a passion for understanding human behaviour and a deep commitment to supporting marginalized communities. They are working toward a master’s in counselling psychology, with aspirations to support queer individuals and neurodiverse youth.
In addition to their academic pursuits, Chantelle works as a Teaching Assistant with the VTEC team at TRU and has been a Registered Veterinary Technologist since 2012. Outside of their professional and academic life, Chantelle enjoys gardening, caring for their houseplants, playing video games, solving puzzles, and spending time with family—their partner, dog, two cats, and three crow friends.
Chantelle’s excitement for this role stems from their personal experiences with gender confusion and the profound sense of community they’ve found along their journey. This role offers them the unique opportunity to contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for others navigating similar paths. Chantelle is dedicated to fostering a supportive space in Kamloops where queer students can thrive. Their vision for queer students at TRU is to ensure they feel safe, valued, and integrated into a supportive community. Chantelle aims to enhance awareness around micro-aggressions and discrimination and to make it easier for students to connect with their peers.
